FireFly Automatix, manufacturer of automated turf harvesters, was named the fastest growing company in Utah at the 22nd annual Utah 100 Awards Program on Tuesday. The AgTech group claimed the top spot on MountainWest Capital Network’s Utah 100 list among a record number of nominations. The award is based on percentage of revenue growth and recognizes performance in arguably the hottest business climate in America.
“FireFly is at the cutting edge of one of the largest growth drivers in history: the transformation to an autonomous economy where machines do all the repetitive and labor-intensive work,” said CEO Andrew Limpert. “Our initial focus is in the AgTech sector, but we plan to expand to other autonomous applications over time. We are excited to explore the many growth opportunities in automation.”
FireFly Automatix, operating under the name FireFly Equipment, builds their harvesters in North Salt Lake and distributes them to turfgrass farms throughout the United States and Australia, with plans to enter new international markets.
“It is clear Utah is one of the hottest places in the country to start or run a business,” said Paul Skeen, chairman of the MWCN Utah 100 committee. “As a strong indicator, we had a record number of Utah companies vying for the 100 fastest growing companies in Utah.”
